Over the last several years, I’ve become much more intentional about the products I bring into my home.
For me, this actually started before I had kids. I began paying more attention to the amount of waste we create, the products we use daily, and making more conscious decisions about the impact those choices have both inside our home and beyond it.
Then after becoming a mom, those thoughts naturally expanded even more.
I started paying closer attention to the products I was using on surfaces my kids touch every day, the products I use on their laundry, the air quality inside our home, and overall just being more intentional about what I’m surrounding my family with.
I want to be very clear though — I’m not a scientist, and I’m not here to make bold claims or pretend to know more than I do.
I simply started becoming more aware of the products I use every single day, and over time I’ve built a cleaning system in my home that helps me feel more confident in what I’m using while still keeping my home clean, functional, and manageable.
And as a stay-at-home mom with two young kids…
I clean constantly.
So these products are not sitting under my sink collecting dust.
I use them every single day.
Here’s the realistic non-toxic cleaning system I’ve built in my home that actually works for our family.
My Biggest Priority: Products That Actually Work
One thing I learned pretty quickly when I first started switching products is that a lot of “natural” cleaning products simply did not work the way I wanted them to.
I tried several products marketed as safer or more natural alternatives, and while I appreciated the idea behind them, I often felt disappointed by how well they actually cleaned.
And as someone managing a home with two small children, cleaning products need to work.
I cannot spend extra time scrubbing something over and over just because I chose a gentler product.
That’s why I’ve gradually built a system around products that help me feel better about what I’m using without sacrificing effectiveness.
That balance matters a lot to me.
The Product I Use For Almost Everything: Force of Nature
If I had to recommend one cleaning product to absolutely anyone, it would be Force of Nature.
And I mean that honestly.
I use Force of Nature constantly throughout the day and it has completely changed the way I clean my home.
Before finding it, I had separate products for different jobs.
A floor cleaner.
A shower cleaner.
A multi-purpose cleaner.
Different sprays for different surfaces.
My cabinets were full of half-used cleaning products.
It created clutter, cost more money over time, and honestly just made cleaning feel more complicated.
Now?
I reach for one product for nearly everything.
I use Force of Nature on:
- Kitchen counters
- Bathroom counters
- Toilets
- Showers
- Floors
- Kids toys
- High chairs
- Tables
- Car surfaces
- Door handles
- Light switches
- Even my hands as a hand sanitizer when needed
One of the biggest reasons I love it so much is because I feel comfortable using it on surfaces my kids interact with every single day.
I can clean toys that go directly into their mouths and feel completely comfortable doing so.
And I never feel like I’m compromising on cleanliness.
It works incredibly well and has simplified my entire cleaning routine.
I keep bottles in my home, my diaper bag, and even my car because I genuinely use it that often.
My Laundry System: Truly Free Home
As a family of four with two young kids…
Laundry happens every single day.
Constantly.
Clothes, towels, blankets, bedding, kid messes — it never stops.
For laundry, I use Truly Free Home products daily.
One thing I really appreciate is how simple the system is.
The detergent is mixed with water and lasts a long time, which I love.
After switching away from traditional laundry detergents, I also noticed I became much more aware of how strong synthetic fragrances can be.
It’s funny because I never really noticed it before.
It was just “normal.”
But after switching, I realized how sensitive I had actually become to those heavily fragranced products.
I also use their reusable dryer sheet alternative, which is another product I’ve really enjoyed.
It helps reduce static, helps with lint, and unlike traditional dryer sheets, it can be reused over and over again instead of constantly throwing more waste away.
And of course…
My clothes still feel clean.
That part matters.
Beyond laundry, I’ve also been really happy with several of Truly Free’s other products. I regularly use their fruit and veggie wash spray, which gives me extra peace of mind when cleaning produce for my family. I also use their dish soap and dishwasher detergent, and I love knowing I can reduce harsh chemicals in even more areas of our home while still getting products that work well.
Fresh Air Matters Too: Why I Use Azuna In Every Room
Cleaning products are only one part of the equation for me.
Air quality inside the home matters too.
For fresh air and odor control, I use Azuna.
And I keep it everywhere.
Bathrooms.
Kitchen.
Bedrooms.
Living room.
And even my car.
One thing I appreciate about Azuna is that it doesn’t overwhelm the house with heavy fragrance.
And honestly, I’ve learned over time that I’ve become surprisingly sensitive to synthetic fragrances.
I notice it much more now than I used to.
If you love walking into a home that smells strongly like candles, plugins, or heavy artificial fragrances, this product may not be what you’re looking for.
But for me, I prefer knowing the air feels fresh without needing heavy fragrance covering everything up.
That works much better for our home.
I Also Care About Reducing Waste
One thing I love about this system is that it naturally helps reduce waste too.
That has always mattered to me.
Many of the products I use involve refill systems rather than constantly throwing plastic bottles away and buying entirely new products.
That includes:
- Refillable cleaning systems
- Refillable laundry systems
- Reusable dryer sheet alternatives
- Reusable cleaning towels instead of constantly using paper towels
I like knowing that my everyday household systems are creating less waste overall.
It feels like a small but meaningful improvement in our home.

I Didn’t Switch Everything Overnight
One thing I want to mention is that I did not completely overhaul my home all at once.
This happened gradually over time.
First I switched to Force of Nature.
Then I found Azuna.
Then I transitioned to Truly Free Home products.
Little by little, I found products I genuinely loved and slowly built a system around them.
I think sometimes people feel like making lifestyle changes means changing everything immediately.
But honestly…
You do not need to do that.
Small changes over time can make a huge difference.

Final Thoughts
At the end of the day, I simply want products in my home that help me feel good about what I’m using around my family.
But equally important…
I need products that actually work.
As a mom of two young kids who manages the home full-time, I clean constantly throughout the day.
I do not have time for products that look nice in theory but don’t perform well in real life.
The products I use now have simplified my routines, reduced clutter under my sink, reduced waste in our home, and most importantly — I genuinely trust using them around my family.
And that peace of mind matters.
This system works for us.
And I genuinely have no plans to go back.
